A brand shaped by generations, rooted in its heritage and searching for a way to evolve. This project called for a story that could honour the past while looking to the future, helping to elevate a growing collection of hotels and hospitality concepts into a new realm. All distinct but brought together by a common thread.
1926 Collection — Elegantly Personal
The Brief
I was tasked with developing a flexible naming system that could evolve the existing portfolio while supporting future growth. The system needed to be cohesive but not limiting, reflecting the brand’s sophistication, worldliness, and deep-rooted care for heritage, storytelling, and guest experience across hotels, resorts, stays, and food and beverage outlets.
From there, I developed the brand story, tagline, and tone of voice rooted in the flagship property, alongside names for new venues and brand copy for hotel and restaurant websites.

Our story begins in 1926, when our great love and appreciation for culture, diversity and style was born. A spirit for travel and adventure was ignited, and a passion was stirred, that would eventually become what we are today.
A collection of hotels and properties created with a sense of elegance, and a grand view and devotion to what we do. An ardour for the experiences we create, and the impact we leave; on our guests, on our staff, and on our environment.

Margaux houses our fine dining experience, named for the favoured and famed wine house. Sunny’s Lounge captures an old world essence of character and charm. 1926 La Plage Infinity Beach Club breathes new life into one of the most spectacular vantage points on our island. And our latest addition, 1926 Les Bains, houses luxury private spa suites and authentic Roman style thermal baths, which echo the rejuvenating effects of ancient healing remedies.

The Voice (Excerpt)
Impassioned — We express ourselves with ardour and wonder. We are passionate about the experiences we create, the legacy we are building on, and the innovation in our ideas, concepts and delivery, and we show that in how we communicate.
Eloquent — There is an elegance in how we communicate, a sense of expressiveness that allows us to effectively convey our thoughts and feelings in a meaningful way. It is natural, easy and articulate.
Personal — We speak to our audience and guests in a personal way, it is intimate and caring yet respectful. There is a slight formality yet cordial, and we also show graciousness and thoughtfulness.
Considered — We are considered in how we communicate. We think about how everything fits together, how our story comes to life, and are discerning, not gushing. We think about what we want to say and the feeling we want to create.
The Naming System
Le / La / Les — A naming convention that leaves us open to individual and personalised names for each hotel and property while maintaining consistency across the collection through refined simplicity. Choosing Le/La/Les as the overriding commonality means we can capture the feeling of the classic French references that are intrinsic to the brand, ensuring each name has a similar look and feel so they fit together seamlessly.

Andrew Borg — Executive Chef Chef Andrew Borg boasts nearly three decades of experience in fine dining, bringing a lifelong passion for outstanding cuisine that has been nurtured in the kitchens of his father’s restaurants from a young age. His culinary style is rooted in a deep respect for peak-season ingredients sourced from trusted partners, creating dishes that are light yet flavourful and highlight the quality in every element. He brings a technical precision and complexity that fuels his culinary artistry. This sense of creativity paired with the interactive experience offered at the kitchen counter of Le GV brings a refreshing departure from the typical restaurant setting, infusing the dining experience with a unique energy and vibrancy.
